Review:

Xiaomi 3G is a device that acts only as a router, indicated to improve the already installed connection and the connectivity performance of your modem-router.

It is a router with 802.11ac transmission technology, dual band, that is, allows you to reach the maximum speed of 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz network, therefore faster and with less interference, but not supported but some devices, and 300 Mbps on the network 2.4 GHz traditional.

It presents a design, in full Xiaomi style, very elegant and nice, thanks also to the excellent materials used in the construction phase.

On the front side, in addition to the typical Xiaomi logo, we find a 3-color LED:

• Blue light : System is running Flashing

• Flashing blue light : New firmware version available

• Yellow light : Start and Reset

• Flashing yellow light : Format mass storage, restore mass storage

• Red light : The system has stopped abnormally

• Flashing red light : Enter system mode or reset the system mode

On the back, instead, we find the reset button, a USB 3.0 port, for connecting a memory device, such as a stick or a hard disk, in order to access its contents through computers and mobile devices connected to the network. with its app, two 1 Gigabit LAN ports for high-speed fiber optic needs, the WAN port for connecting to our modem, and finally the power connector.

There are also four omnidirectional external antennas, two for the 2.4 GHz band and two for the 5 GHz band.

With its 256 MB of RAM, DDR3 can connect up to 128 devices simultaneously.

We can access its control panel via a browser, from which you can completely manage all the functions of this router and have all the information we need, such as, to know which devices are connected, the statistics of download and upload, the 'use of the CPU and RAM memory of the router, accessing the settings, instead we can configure the internet security, decide whether to use the two bands at the same time 5 and 2.4 GHz or exclude one of them, activate or deactivate a guest network, set bandwidth limitations for each device connected to the router, and many other settings.

We can also manage these and many other functions directly from the smartphone, thanks to the dedicated application "MiWIFI", which can be downloaded for free:
