Vetomile - Dual band walkie-talkies

Review:

I needed a DMR digital / analog dual band radio device, which would allow me to have a wide range of possibilities of use and at the same time a good reliability and excellent quality of materials.

So, after some research, reading the features and the main functions, including displaying GPS coordinates, sending text messages or calls when you are in an emergency condition, and we can not establish a network communication with our phone, I decided to buy this product.

The product has been designed with materials of good quality, meticulous attention to detail, also has IP67 certification, this allows the device a complete protection from dust and small objects, and the waterproofing for up to 30 minutes immersed in a meter of 'water.

This device, being dual band can operate on VHF (with a frequency from 136 to 174MHZ) and UHF (with a frequency from 400 to 480MHz), compared to analog radios in this, we find 1024 channels available that can and should be programmed in based on our needs, such as digital channels, or analogue channels, before we can use it.

This is not an impossible task but surely you need a computer and a minimum of knowledge even if the information for programming can be retrieved on the internet as well as some files already prepared that can serve as an example.

On the front of the device we find, under the manufacturer's logo a speaker and a microphone, the color display that allows us to view on which band we are, the intensity of the received sign, the power output, indicating with :

H - High
M - Medium
L - Low

If we are in digital DMR, it is also indicated if the GPS signal has been locked, and also the icon indicating the percentage of battery left.

Below the display, on the other hand, there is the keyboard, with some functional buttons and a small ball placed in the middle that acts as a joystick, to navigate the menu and change some settings.

On the left side, there are three buttons that can be programmed according to our needs and a Press To Talk switch (PTT), used to communicate. On the opposite side, instead, we find underneath an adequate screw protection, the entrance with a multipin attack, Motorola style, for the headphones and the programming cable, both supplied.

Finally on the top, there is the antenna, an LED indicator, a functional button and a volume selector, which also acts as a power button.

This device allows communication up to about 10 km, but we must take into account other factors that influence the range of a two-way radio, such as the weather, and the obstacles present between the two walkie-talkies.

It has a 2200mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery, which allows normal use for about 9-12 hours, while in standby for about 55 hours. It is recharged by placing the device in the base, which in turn is connected to the home current
